Maupassant (Henri Ren\u00e9 Albert Guy de Maupassant, 1850 ~ 1893) was an outstanding 19th-century French writer, who is a protege of Flaubert(Gustave Flaubert). He also has the reputation of \u201cthe king of the short story\u201d. As the best known creations of Maupassant, the short story Boule de Suif and the novel Une vie, which were made to help Maupassant hold an important position in French literary. And Maupassant\u2019s second novel, Bel-Ami, which was published in 1885, is one of the masterpieces of his novels.<\/p>\n

This Thesis is to research the diverse descriptions of the characters and events in the novel Bel-Ami, which is focused on the description of the character and the mirror image, as well as the virtual image. This Thesis is divided into three parts. The main research is based on an analysis of the text. In the first chapter, the main topic is \u201cthe literary writing concept of Maupassant\u201d to explore how he handles literary creation, as well as the elements and the theory of literary writing. Besides, we must also figure out the basic structure and the main narrative features of the novel.<\/p>\n

In the second chapter, based on the methods of narratology, we try to analyse the mode of description in the novel. The main study of the first section is \u201ccostume\u201d and \u201cspace environment\u201d. These two descriptive methods are mainly for the analysis of the character\u2019s external description in the novel. Section II is to analyze the description of the character\u2019s gaze. Section III is to analyze \u201cthe habitual action of the character\u201d in the novel.<\/p>\n

In the third chapter, the main gist is to explore the virtual image of the character in the novel. At first, section I is going to describe the background and the source which are associated with the virtual image, including mirror and illusion (le double). Then, section II is mainly to explore how Maupassant used \u201cmirror\u201d as the particular media to express the virtual image of the character, also the method and the effects of the description. At last, section III is going to analyze the repeatability and the function of the roles Georges Duroy and Jesus of the painting in this novel.<\/p>\n

\u6cd5\u6587\u6458\u8981\uff1a<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Guy de Maupassant est n\u00e9 le 5 ao\u00fbt 1850 et mort le 6 juillet 1893 \u00e0 Paris. Il est un \u00e9crivain fran\u00e7ais, qui est un prot\u00e9g\u00e9 de Gustave Flaubert. Surtout, Maupassant est renomm\u00e9 pour ses nouvelles et ses contes, il a aussi la r\u00e9putation de \u201cle roi du r\u00e9cit court\u201d. En outre, Maupassant a \u00e9galement un grand succ\u00e8s sur le roman. Par exemple, son deuxi\u00e8me roman, Bel-Ami, a \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9 en 1885. Cette litt\u00e9rature classique non seulement a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 La Troisi\u00e8me R\u00e9publique mais aussi a expos\u00e9 le ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne hideux de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9, la politique et les m\u00e9dias dans cette p\u00e9riode. Cet \u00e9crivain distingu\u00e9 et f\u00e9cond, Guy de Maupassant, je l\u2019ai su la premi\u00e8re fois en classe de litt\u00e9rature fran\u00e7aise, a \u00e9galement lu son \u0153uvre remarquable, Une vie, et m\u2019a laiss\u00e9 une impression tr\u00e8s profonde. En plus, apr\u00e8s avoir lu le roman Bel-Ami de Maupassant, on peut trouver qu\u2019il y a les mani\u00e8res diverses pour d\u00e9crire les personnages et les \u00e9v\u00e9nements dans cet \u0153uvre. Et puis, Maupassant a utilis\u00e9 les nombreux milieux pour les bien d\u00e9peindre et repr\u00e9senter. Dans ce m\u00e9moire, le roman Bel-Ami est d\u2019\u00eatre comme le texte de l\u2019\u00e9tude, et il y a deux m\u00e9thodes de recherche : l\u2019analyse du texte et la recherche narrative. Cette \u00e9tude est divis\u00e9 en trois parties. D\u2019 abord, le sujet de chapitre I est \u201cLe concept de l\u2019\u00e9criture litt\u00e9raire de Maupassant\u201d, c\u2019est pour faire la recherche de la th\u00e9orie litt\u00e9raire de Maupassant, et puis, discuter la structure principale et les particularit\u00e9s narratives du roman. Ensuite, le sujet de chapitre II est \u201cLa mani\u00e8re et la caract\u00e9ristique de la description du personnage dans \u00ab Bel-Ami \u00bb\u201d. C\u2019est un chapitre qui utilise la narratologie d\u2019analyser les descriptions dans ce roman et principalement de faire l\u2019\u00e9tude sur les descriptions des v\u00eatements, l\u2019environnement de l\u2019espace, le regard et l\u2019action habituelle du personnage. En finale, le sujet de chapitre III est \u201cL\u2019image virtuelle dans \u00ab Bel-Ami \u00bb\u201d et c\u2019est l\u2019extension du deuxi\u00e8me chapitre. Dans ce chapitre, on va discuter le contexte et l\u2019origine qui ont associ\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019image virtuelle, y compris le miroir et le double. De plus, par le milieu du miroir pour analyser la description du miroir et l\u2019image virtuelle dans ce roman. En outre, on va \u00e9galement rechercher les similarit\u00e9s et les fonctions entre le r\u00f4le principal, Georges Duroy et J\u00e9sus de la peinture dans le roman.<\/p>\n
